The
Sustainability Lead holds responsibility for the development and ownership of schemes within the sustainability sector, with the aim of achieving and maintaining both UKAS accreditation and Industry Standards.
What that means day to day
- Provide regular updates on industry and legislative changes, best practice, training, guidance, and advice when required to both internal and external Stakeholders.
- Lead the creation and implementation of sustainability standards.
- Project manage all scheme changes from notification through to implementation.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support and advice for clients and our internal sales & marketing teams.
- Design and conduct auditor training sessions, mentoring, interviews, and sign off processes, in conjunction with Regional Operations Managers (ROMs).
- Conduct witnessed assessments of Lead Auditors and sign off against competency requirements.
- Design and conduct monthly sustainability toolbox talks.
- Act as a mentor and coach to the field, international and technical teams.
- Provide support as a SME to both technical and international teams through completion of file reviews, competence approvals, application reviews, UKAS and internal audits and corrective action requests.
- Attend UKAS audits, communicating and leading on improvements through a clearly defined project plan with relevant action owners.
- Provide support and expertise to the field and Academy teams by designing, developing, and updating course material in line with industry standards.
- Complete audits to specified standards within SLA’s.
- Manage through complaint resolution where required.
What you’ll need to be successful
Essential:
- Demonstrable experience & knowledge within the Sustainability sector.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Strong data and numerical reasoning.
- Ability to identify & develop the 14064 and 14068 schemes in response to client, UKAS, government or ISOQAR requirements.
- Ability to use own initiative to effectively respond to client, UKAS, government, associated bodies, and business requirements.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively project manage all scheme changes through to implementation.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Desirable:
- Relevant degree-level qualification
- Ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Lead Auditor.
