A Technical Officer is responsible for ensuring the effective and compliant administration of all technical aspects of the certification process, in adherence with business and accreditation requirements in the UK and Internationally. It requires a keen eye for detail, good organisation and a strong motivation to learn.
What that means day to day
- Reviewing all incoming applications to ascertain risk, audit duration and required auditor competence
- Supporting the sales teams with complex quotes, this includes attending meetings with customers to provide support
- Assisting with resource allocation and audit planning
- Analysing audit reports to ensure adherence to accreditation and certification requirements
- Responsible for making technical decisions with evidence to back it up
- Ensuring compliant adherence to accreditation requirements throughout the customer 3 year cycle – including responding to any changes impacting certification
- Providing advice and guidance related to certification compliance to all departments in the business
- Investigation and reporting on customer appeals
- Support the Compliance team with internal audits, corrective actions and implementation of new products
- Ad-hoc responsibilities as required by the Technical Team Manager
What you’ll need to be successful
Essential:
- Any ISO Internal Auditor Qualification
- Demonstrate an understanding of ISO standards including quality, environmental and occupational health & safety management system standards
- Ability to make risk based decisions applying theoretical and factual knowledge
- Competent with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and Dynamics)
- Effective communication and able to build positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
- Must be able to work collaboratively in team environment.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues from different teams and departments to achieve shared objectives.
- Must be able to manage competing priorities and collaborate to find solutions.
Desirable:
- ISO Lead Auditor Qualifications (9001, 14001, 45001, 27001, etc.)
- Knowledge of information security and energy management system standards
- Working knowledge of the certification industry
- Knowledge of ISO 17021/17065 requirements
