www.colibrigroup.com Position Overview:We are seeking a highly motivated Curriculum Specialist to join our team and contribute to the development of educational content for insurance pre-licensing and continuing education courses. As a Curriculum Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in designing, writing, and refining instructional materials to ensure that our students receive high-quality and comprehensive training that prepares them for success in the insurance industry.
What You'll Do
- The primary responsibility of the role is the expansion of our L&H and P&C curriculum through the development and updates of our existing content and new products and courses.
- Collaborate with fellow subject matter experts to identify learning objectives and content requirements for insurance pre-licensing and continuing education courses.
- Research industry regulations, best practices, and emerging trends to inform curriculum development.
- Design and develop engaging instructional materials, including lesson plans, presentations, assessments, and activities, that align with learning objectives and regulatory standards.
- Write clear, concise, and accurate content covering a range of insurance topics such as policies, regulations, ethics, and risk management.
- Review and revise existing course materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and currency with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with instructional designers, graphic designers, and multimedia specialists to create visually appealing and effective learning resources.
- Conduct pilot testing and gather feedback from students and instructors to improve the quality and effectiveness of instructional materials.
- Stay abreast of advancements in instructional design methodologies, educational technologies, and adult learning principles to continually enhance curriculum development processes.
- Assist in training instructors and providing ongoing support to ensure effective implementation of instructional materials.
- Various other tasks as assigned to support the business.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry is required.
- A bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, curriculum development, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in curriculum development, exam prep, or instructional design in the insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of insurance principles, regulations, and practices, with prior experience in insurance pre-licensing education preferred.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency in instructional design principles and methodologies, including adult learning theory, Bloom’s taxonomy, and instructional systems design (ISD) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality educational materials that meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team-based environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
- Adaptability and willingness to embrace feedback and iterate on instructional materials to improve learning outcomes.
