Founded more than 15 years ago and headquartered in Chicago, the DV Group of financial services firms has grown to more than 350 people operating throughout North America and in Europe. Since spinning out of a large brokerage firm in 2016, DV Trading has rapidly scaled as an independent proprietary trading firm utilizing its own capital, trading strategies, and risk management methodologies to provide liquidity to worldwide financial markets and hedging opportunities to commodity producers and users. Now, DV group affiliates include two broker dealers, a cryptocurrency market making firm, and a bourgeoning investment adviser.
DV Energy is a rapidly growing division that specializes in trading crude oil, refined products, natural gas, and related energy markets across US, Europe, and Asia. Our proprietary risk management and trading methodologies along with a strong ability to adapt to changing conditions has allowed DV Energy to grow into one of the largest financial participants within the global energy complex.
Responsibilities:- Work side by side with senior energy traders within the European Gas, Power, Coal and Emissions complex
- Build and maintain fundamental trading models
- Manage existing data inputs and source new alpha generating data sources
- Implement new predictive modelling to give trading insights
- Use model outputs to formulate trading strategies that the desk will implement
- Learn proprietary methodologies and trading systems that support an established trading business
- Liaise between trading groups and analysts across DV to share knowledge and leverage skillsets
- Work closely with Dev and IT groups to deploy and maintain models
- Leverage DVs sophisticated technology background to understand and trade European energy markets
- Possess a strong work ethic and be able to learn quickly in a fast paced, high pressure environment
- Detail oriented, organized, diligent
- High level of proficiency in python and statistical modeling essential
- SQL and other programming a plus
- Maintain composure and communicate clearly when under pressure
- Ability to succeed working as part of a diversified team
- Strong interest in trading and energy markets in particular
- Strong understanding of math, probability, and statistics
- Advanced aptitude for problem solving and multitasking
- The ability to translate statistical solutions into real world commercial use cases
- A desire to succeed and grow within an expanding team of traders
