Role purpose
Data Platform Support Engineer to support a SAAS based Investment Data Management Platform. The role is for candidate who is proficient in supporting Fixed income and OTC Instrument Systems and has experience in dealing with a variety of Data and Application Issues preferably on Data or Investment Management SaaS systems.
Become an SME for the data platform and be a conduit between Business teams and platform Supplier.
Requirements
Analysing data for any discrepancies at source
Manage vendor and stakeholder relationships as appropriate, participating in service reviews.
Management and responsibility of resolution of incidents, Request and problems with the data platform and third-party support partners, ensuring that SLAs are adhered to.
Review the content of the updates from the vendor, communication to the business on the content of each release and its impact.
Coordinates and evaluates processes to identify, track, escalate, resolve and report customer problems.
Adheres to defined standards and measures for quality and customer satisfaction requirements, ensure SLA’s are met to our stakeholders.
Proactively analyse and evaluates the technical performance and reliability of the data platform.
Implements and coordinates standards, procedures and processes.
Responsible for agreeing the roadmap for future upgrades to the platforms, agreeing with the business when and what will be deployed.
Co-ordination of the testing of each platform upgrade, and managing any failures with the vendor, the business and the third-party testing partner.
Active participation in Change Management
Understand the Data pipelines.
Person Specification
Knowledge, experience, skills and abilities (technical competencies)
Industry domain experience of Insurance, Fixed Income, and OTC instrument systems from a support perspective.
Writing SQL
3-5 years Data Platform support experience (e.g Finbourne, Markit EDM, GoldenSource, Alveo, Murex, Aladdin etc.)
Power BI reporting and visualisation experience (incl DAX)
Knowledge of Azure services
Understanding of AWS platforms
Excellent Communication skills through a variety of mediums
Ability to communicate technical IR issue with No IT resources.
Stake holder management
Collaborative working style and ability to work in cross functional teams.
