PIC is recruiting for a Head of Analytics & AI to join its Data Office. The purpose of this role is to support the Chief Data Officer in shaping and delivering PIC’s Analytics and AI strategy, governance, Operating Model and Capabilities.
Your responsibilities:
Support the Chief Data Officer in the development and delivery of the data strategy and vision, including support for Analytics-driven digital transformation and embedding more agile data working practices.
Communicate with business stakeholders to develop and drive plans for data and analytics modernisation to solve business problems and create business opportunities.
Establish the strategy, roadmap and detailed plans for data capabilities to maximise business opportunities through effective management and exploitation of data in PIC.
Ensure that the Analytics and AI strategy, plans and activities remain current and align with and support PIC’s overall strategy, business objectives, policies and standards.
Create and drive the business cases for PIC Analytics and AI capabilities, with a holistic approach covering Data, People, Process and Technology.
Provide strategic direction and subject matter expertise to plan and deliver Analytics Enablement programmes, ensuring realisation of business benefits.
Recruit, manage, develop and support members of the Data Office team in order to successfully deliver against the department’s objectives.
Work with Change and Enterprise Architecture to embed an effective framework within PIC to ensure Analytics and AI plans align with PIC strategy and are correctly managed, approved and communicated.
Establish and promote best practice, acting as the key point of reference for Analytics and AI and providing representation on relevant forums and committees.
Work collaboratively with other teams in the Data Office, Technology, Change and wider business to ensure plans are aligned with business data opportunities and challenges.
Awareness of ethical, legal and regulatory matters relevant to PIC’s data products, seeing that appropriate systems, processes and training are in place to ensure the right outcomes for our policyholders and employees, and mitigate business risk.
Develop and maintain appropriate documentation in relation to the Analytics and AI function and its activities.
Requirements
Essential:
Significant experience designing and delivering complex Analytics and AI solutions to drive business transformation.
Extensive business knowledge and experience, understanding key business drivers and how to prioritise and deliver the Analytics solutions that will have the most positive business impacts.
Detailed understanding of techniques, systems and data architecture underpinning Advanced Analytics, machine learning and generative AI at scale.
Significant statistical and programming experience, with expert understanding of advanced mathematics, Python, SQL and R.
Knowledge, understanding and experience of Analytics and AI strategy, planning and capabilities.
Team management and ability to inspire, motivate and develop others in order to deliver department and business objectives.
Excellent communication skills; experienced in influencing and negotiating with Executive Team stakeholders and building relationships across the organisation.
Proficient in driving business adoption of analytics outputs and deriving associated business benefits.
Experience in implementing and running agile Data Ops and operating in a Centre of Excellence model.
Desirable:
Proven ability to set strategic direction at department-level, keeping sight of both long-term vision and short-term goals.
Current knowledge of developments in data management, analytics, AI and data science fields.
Knowledge and experience of using Power BI, SSIS, ETL and EDM tools, SQL server, Azure, Visual Studio, Github or equivalents.
