The IT Intern will be assigned to a functional Team Manager and an internship mentor or co-mentors. Work performed will be hands on, may contribute to a project as a whole, but does not directly impact the outcome.
At the conclusion of the internship, the intern will have a clear understanding of how their studies directly contribute to their course of study and/or the medical device industry.
This is a part-time summer internship position (up to 30 hours per week), working with the Information Technology Team at Kestra.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assist with evaluating existing 3rd party risk management program for improvements
- Collaborate with the IT Team to develop a Disaster Recovery Plan for a chosen application including training staff, and manage a table top exercise
- Collect Disaster Recovery Plan tabletop lessons learned for suggestions to improve the existing plan
- Assist with BI Partner to review of reporting contents for appropriate use of PHI and PII data
- Handle manipulate, and analyze sensitive data in a confidential and secure manner
- Assist with documenting business processes and use creative thinking to collaborate with experts to design business solutions
- Project presentation: at the conclusion of the internship, present the project results and findings to the IT team and Kestra Executive Leadership

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience Required:
- Enrolled as an undergraduate student in Data Science, Computer Science, Informatics, Business Administration, or a closely related major.
Preferred:
- Able to use Microsoft Office programs
- Good communication skills and an interest in learning
- Professional team player willing to contribute positively to a team dynamic
- Good organizational and prioritization skills
WORK EVNIRONMENT:
- Indoor open office environment
- Minimal noise volume typical to an office environment
- Extended/overtime hours when needed

INTERNSHIP ELIGIBILITY:
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within the past 6 months
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment with Kestra Medical Technologies
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization
- Must provide own transportation to/from work
- Must successful complete and pass a criminal and employment background screening that meets the allowable FDA requirements and is in accordance with EEOC rules and regulations
- Must successfully pass a pre-internship drug screen
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Frequent repetitive motions that may include wrists, hands and/or fingers, such as keyboard and mouse usage
