Direct Counsel is looking for a for a long-term contract attorney with German language skills. This position can sit in any of the following offices, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, D.C. Miami, Chicago, Silicon Valley, Tampa or Houston. Candidates must be barred in one of the states where the above city is located. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in general litigation. This position is for 6 months or longer.
Requirements
· Draft pleadings, discovery, memoranda, motions and other legal documents
· Handle litigation matters from inception through trial, including taking depositions, attending mediations and settlement negotiations
· Make independent decisions and advising clients on pre-litigation and litigation matters
· Work with experts
· Legal research
· Working with German counterparts
· Other projects, as assigned

· Motivated with the desire to achieve top level results
· The ability to work well with a team as well as work well independently
Required Experience for the position:
· Must have a minimum of 1-3 years of solid experience in litigation in State courts
