syncreon, part of DP World are currently recruiting for an Senior Logistics/Process Engineer for our fast paced Automotive site in Wolverhampton. This role will see you take the lead on all day to day site engineering matters including layout design, processes and projects. You will be a driven and passionate individual with extensive expertise in leading critical BAU matters whilst also responding to and resolving a variety of other challenging projects. You will be an adaptable and flexible individual able to priortise and manage a varied work portfolio all whilst ensuring the team are supported, managed and developed effectively.
About the role:
How you will contribute:
- Day to day management of engineering and SMART team, including driving the performance management process and devising personal development plans for team members
- Ensure engineering function is aligned at all times with operations team and other support functions
- Actively contribute to regional initiatives, innovations, design solutions and the creation of regional standards and ensure deployment once established to team
- Actively engage with other engineering teams to ensure best practices and processes are shared. Contribute the development of a collaborative one engineering mentality across region
- Act as key interface with customer on development projects and issues where engineering support is required
- Support in the creation of innovative and best practice solutions to new business opportunities or client requests
- Continually monitor and review headcount plan versus actual to ensure alignment is maintained at all time between model and running operation
- Ensure appropriate controls and approval processes are strictly enforced for process and infrastructure changes
- Develop, plan, manage and ensure effective delivery of engineering elements of BPI / future projects, Continuous improvement initiatives and Site launches
- Organize and/or attend customer/internal meetings to help ascertain Engineering requirements as required by plant management
- Ensure department metrics and reporting are produced and developed to satisfy senior management requirements on time and in full
- Develop and deliver long term engineering strategy to ensure continual development of function and the delivery of best practice solutions
Your Key Skills/Experience:
- Proven exposure of leading an Engineering service within Manufacturing/Automotive/Logistics/Supply chain environments
- Proven exposure of delivering various engineering solutions within a fast paced and challenging business arena
- Lean and Six Sigma practitioner
- Strong Methods Time Measurement (MTM) experience and training
- Experience in Value-Stream Mapping (VSM)
- Possess strong IT skills, particularly MS Excel, & PowerPoint. Familiarity of AutoCAD would be an advantage.
- Strong project management and operational experience
- Strong leadership and change management skills.
- Strong demonstratable utilisation and application of LEAN methodologies “5 Why’s”, “Fish Bone” etc
