Are you passionate about crafting intricate game systems that immerse players? As a 4X Product Director at Hypemasters, you'll direct the development of a new 4x game from pre-production to release. This is an excellent opportunity for someone willing to take on the challenge of building out a new team and a new game. Working closely with our leadership team, you'll have the opportunity to architect and create a game that redefines the standards of the 4X genre.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of a new 4X game from pre-production through to release, ensuring alignment with the company's vision and goals.
- Collaborate closely with the leadership team to define the creative direction, gameplay mechanics, and feature set of the game.
- Build and manage a high-performing team creating a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and adherence to quality standards.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of game systems, mechanics, and content, continually iterating and refining based on player feedback and market trends.
- Champion the game within the company and to external partners, effectively communicating its vision, progress, and key milestones.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities, leveraging insights to inform decision-making and enhance the game's competitive positioning.
- Possess a deep understanding of economic systems within 4X games and the ability to configure and balance in-game economies to ensure engaging gameplay experiences.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, with a primary focus on designing meta-game systems.
- Deep understanding of the 4X genre, including its mechanics, gameplay dynamics, and player expectations.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor diverse teams to achieve ambitious goals.
- Strong project management expertise, including the ability to develop and execute comprehensive project plans, manage budgets, and mitigate risks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and a willingness to push the boundaries of traditional game design.
