What You’ll do
As a Claims Adjustor, you will be investigating and adjusting liability claims in accordance with established claims handling procedures and processes using Rural King guidelines.
Exercise proper judgment and decision making to analyze claim exposure to determine a suitable adjuster assignment.
Analyze claim forms, policies, and endorsements.
Use extensive reporting capabilities to manage and assess carriers by detailing claims, payments, and reserve activity.
Manage all legal time frames (diary) as a back up to the assigned adjuster and legal team.
Manage time adequately to ensure proper turn around for all tasks such as entering new claims, coding claims, pending claims, customer service requests, claim documentation, action plan.
Document and communicate all claim activity timely and effectively in a manner that supports the outcome of the claim file.
Review the reserve adequacy throughout the life of the claim as a back up to the assigned adjuster.
Maintain accurate documentation in the claim file and submit medical, legal, and miscellaneous invoices for supervisor and accounts payable approval through an online process.
Assist in selection and supervision of defense attorneys.
Assess and monitor subrogation claims for resolution.
Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant; maintain professional relationships.
Refer cases as appropriate to supervisor and management.
Use analytical skills to investigate and determine liability to resolve incidents.
Use critical thinking in situational elements to work toward a resolution.
Assist with gathering incident documentation (i.e., recorded statements, video, pictures).
Process mail and prioritize workload.
Oversee 3rd party claims and collection.
Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Actively participate in learning initiatives offered such as training programs, workshops, and webinars. Leverage these opportunities to acquire new knowledge, refine existing skills, and stay current on the latest developments.
Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support to others, assisting with inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.

Essential Qualities for Success
At least 3 years of claim handling experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Active adjuster license, or the ability to get an adjuster’s license in a reasonable time frame.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn claim management systems.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong understanding of retail business practices.
Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
