Multi award winning games dialogue specialist SIDE is looking for an Japanese Language checker to join our London based team on a Casual contract.

We are require a detail-oriented and experienced Japanese Language Checker to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of our Japanese content. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Japanese language, including grammar, spelling, and cultural nuances. You will work closely with our editorial teams to review, edit, and validate content. You will support the post-production service helping to ensure the timely completion of agreed deliverables and ensuring milestones are met.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
· Check each audio file matches the dialog script.
· Make sure the ‘As Rec’ script is kept up to date and maintained. Changing or adding notes on each line of text.
· Identify and correct errors in spelling, terminology, and linguistics.
· Provide feedback to improve quality and accuracy.
· Ensure consistency of terminology and adherence to clients' style guides.
· Collaborate and work seamlessly with an audio editor and coordinator, to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality content.
· Participate in creating and updating internal language guidelines and resources.
· Assist the Post-Production Team with their day-to-day tasks wherever possible.
Requirements
· Native-level fluency in Japanese, with excellent command of the language in both written and spoken forms.
· Proficiency in English.
· Transcription, editing, or translation experience highly desirable.
· Excel knowledge advantageous.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide constructive feedback.
· Self-driven, resourceful and a team player who can work well with all levels.
