About the Role

Now, about the opportunity: Brand Strategist.  We are seeking a communicative, reliable and insightful teammate to work within our powerhouse Portfolio strategy group, and become a trusted, invaluable researcher, problem solver, deck builder, idea generator to internal teams and client partners.

You are an invaluable part of the engine helping to power successful work and a trusted sounding board to internal team members.

You’re a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. You’re familiar with brand, campaign, and social strategies and frameworks, with the ability to take on solo tasks as well as collaborative projects.

You’re a strong writer/communicator, Your communication and collaboration skills are excellent, as you’ll engage with disciplines across the Media.Monks network to accomplish tasks with cross-functional teams.

You’re comfortable in the world of data to inform strategies across campaigns, pitches, projects and frameworks. Your day-to-day involves collaboration with strategy partners in Research, Social, Data, Connections Planning and more as projects require. 

You’re culturally plugged in to shifts and trends. An innate ability to translate and connect your ideas to the context of today’s cultural landscape. Deep understanding of how cultural context relates to the success of a brand’s business and consumer. 

You’re an inspired deck builder, who understands how to organize information, both written and visual. You’ll be skilled in helping to determine the key insight or single minded objective that inspires our multidisciplinary creative teams to create impactful work, and collaborate with them throughout creative development to ensure the strategy stays on track. 

Organization and time management are crucial. You’ll work on more than one project and client simultaneously, balancing priorities in collaboration with your manager. 

Strategy cohorts who rely on you as a source of inspiration to the department. You’re a contributor to our fun, clever, respectful culture, both learning from and educating your strategy peers with no ego. 

Responsibilities:

  • Own your strategic perspective, bringing your strongest thinking, insight, and communication skills to craft POVs & strategies that are relevant for client’s day-to-day needs, while driving business big-picture in the long term
  • Bring your best strategic self: you’ll be learning and applying frameworks, approaches, historic findings and life experiences to the table, willing to share and adapt with other Monks across a variety of strategic pillars and executions
  • You serve up sharp thinking in well-designed decks that deliver on strategic POVs, client/ project KPIs with care, vision, intelligence, and an understanding of the audience. 
  • Communication is crucial, the right candidate will be an articulate writer, speaker, presenter
  • Research and collect information using desk research, social listening, syndicated and 3P data, on your own and in synchronization with our Research team. 
  • Build slides and deck narratives that tell a story, captivate, and use data to back up your points and strategy, using imagery and design for maximum impact in Google Slides
  • Work with the Strategy Team, including Social, Media, and Comms strategists, supporting our culture and bench of tools, frameworks, research and POVs both assigned and unassigned (be a persuasive self starter) 
  • Collaborate with a Strategy Director to build our clients’ business by developing strategies, campaigns, workshops, and cultural insights that lead us to achieving stated goals

About You

The essentials:

  • 3 years experience at an agency account planning/ strategy
  • Proficiency in conducting and analyzing primary and secondary research. A plus if you are fluent in research platforms like MRI Simmons, BrandWatch, and GWI.
  • Strong writer and communicator who writes fact-based, exciting, compelling narratives
  • Self starter who’s eager to contribute
  • A passion for culture, and cultural knowledge across multiple categories and audiences
  • Intelligent & perceptive, seeing connections and the big picture where others don’t
  • Persuasive and thoughtful ability to change minds and tell a story
  • No ego- the Monks’ culture is all about collaboration
  • Creative mindset that permeates your strategic thinking

Media.Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Media.Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Media.Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.

 

Salary Range$85,000—$90,000 USD
