EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We have a exciting new opportunity to join our Waste Network team as a Civils Site Supervisor across the STW region. This role will ensure the effective operation, repair, maintenance and installation of the Waste network including Rising Mains, Gravity Sewers, Air Valves, Flow Meters and other ancillary assets.
Our team is dedicated to safely take away waste water from our customer’s through our infrastructure and you’ll take ownership of Strategic Network issues, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the effective delivery of operational works whilst minimising the impact on our customers and their communities. You will work in partnership with the Waste Recycling and Customer Delivery Teams to ensure all work promoted follows correct process and is delivered safely, cost effectively and without risk to our customers or ODIs.
It will include being part of a company standby rota which operates 24/7, 365 days a year. The role will include working across different regions as required.
Some of your other key accountabilities will include:
•Proactively manage and enhance both the internal and external relationship with all key parties including contractors, STW teams, Network Control, Waste Water Treatment, Customer Delivery, and other supporting departments
•Engineering Gravity and pressurised solutions for new lay schemes
•Undertake isolation on the network for delivery of planned works and support isolation during reactive events
•Ensure all Strategic Network repair vehicles and equipment are in a constant state of maintenance and readiness to deploy, with your teams highly skilled, trained and confident in how to safely and effectively use them
•Work with the Tactical Asset and Operability team to provide operational and technical input to ensure capital investment provides an end product compatible with operational needs and maintenance practices
•Ensure full compliance with all regulatory and company requirements and managing safety and productivity on site
•The ability to proactively diagnose and solve problems to give a right first-time solution
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
It would be advantageous to have experience in supervisory or management position or exhibit relevant leadership behaviours and be confident working collaboratively with contract partners and stakeholders across a large geographical area. You’ll ideally have experience of isolation operations on a network i.e. safety procedures and an understanding of hydraulics and the effects this can have on pipe integrity. You’ll previously have worked with deep excavations, large diameter repairs and been exposed to the operation of a large plant and equipment. A full UK driving licence is required for the role.
