Hello. We’re Severn Trent and we think water is wonderful. And we’re pretty keen on people, too.
24 hours a day, 365 (sometimes 366) days a year we serve 4.8 million households and business across the heart of the UK. Each cuppa drank, each toilet flushed is only possible because of the 7,000 brilliant team members working across our patch.
We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality. We know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our customers and the communities where they live.
If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Our Workforce Planning & Optimisation team here at Severn Trent is a critical part of our Field and Contact Centre Operations and we’re looking for our next cohort of Schedulers to join the team from June 2024.
The Scheduler role is the perfect entry route into Severn Trent which allows you to play a major part in the smooth day to day running of operations.
So, what do Schedulers do, I hear you ask? They’re responsible for making sure our field operations in Water and Waste are on time and right first time, across the region! Sounds important right?
As a Scheduler, you’ll liaise with external suppliers, field managers, operatives, the local planning authorities, and customers to schedule crucial emergency and planned repair, renewal, and installation works.
You’ll jeopardy manage our workflow, redistributing work in a day as priorities and service levels change to meet customer and business need.
Plus, you’ll make sure that we’re meeting customer expectations and targets by managing the real time workflows against service levels and Key Performance Indicators.
You'll be based at either our Pride Park or Raynesway site where you’ll be able to park for free. You’ll work within our 320 strong Workforce Planning & Optimisation Team who are predominantly based across the two Derby sites and all love what they do.
With these being such a critical role to the business and our customers, we are looking for someone who can support our teams 37 hours a week, between the hours of 06:30 – 20:00. There will be several shift patterns within this time frame (including a couple of weekend shifts) so we need someone who can be flexible.
As we’re recruiting for several vacancies, we’d love you all to start together in June 2024 so that we can take you through an established training plan with the rest of your cohort.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Being proactive and organised will make you a shining star as a Scheduler as you’ll need to work to certain service levels to achieve our customer and company outcomes efficiently, correctly, and accurately.
It is important you are proactive in the use of continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques to identify issues, solutions and implement and sustain best practice solutions.
Strong administration skills are essential as you will be using our planning tool Click to prioritise and schedule both customer appointed and proactive work to our field technicians and repair crews.
Communication skills are key as you’ll be liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, including customers to manage their expectations.
You’ll thrive working under pressure and can be flexible, switching to different jobs that are high priority and picking up new tasks to support the wider team.
If you like to deliver the best service and work well under pressure in an ever changing environment, then apply to join our next cohort of Schedulers!
The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity and a caring attitude we want to talk to you, too.
We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involve. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care. Is that you?
