As part of this journey, we are recruiting for a Design Manager to join our Waste Networks Design Team!
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Reporting to the Design Business Lead, the Design Manager will lead a multi-disciplinary team of Severn Trent design staff and consultants to deliver engineering solutions for a wide range of needs, from design development through construction to handover. The programme of works will cover waste networks delivering growth projects, CSO improvements and helping to make our network more resilient to climate change and flooding.
Directly accountable for a team of design professionals, you will develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and drive the identification and management of risks which cold impact on the successful delivery of the capital programme.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Ideally degree qualified in a related discipline, you will be an experienced manager with strong coaching skills in solution design. You will have experience managing design projects, ideally networks related (however don’t be put off if you have wider utility experience).
You will have strong planning and implementation skills, with experience of managing external suppliers to deliver outputs to prescribed standards and quality measures. You will have experience of carrying out the role of Principal Designer representative with accountability for discharging Principal Designer duties in accordance with CDM regulations.
You will have excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people. You will be a forward-thinking innovator, capable of anticipating challenges and responding to change in a rapidly evolving environment.
You will be able to make educated judgments and decisions in the face of ambiguity, and have a good grasp of the bigger picture, seeking opportunities to contribute to the wider agenda.
