We are growing our in-house design capability to provide better value for money for our customers and enhancing our expert client capability. As part of this innovation we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
In this role you will undertake feasibility evaluation/assessment for AMP8 projects. Once into Outline Design, the design will be discipline led and you will come up with innovative technical design solutions and specifications to support the delivery of our projects.
You will need to consider the wider context of our changing environment, climate change pledge and carbon commitments.
Teamwork is key across Capital Design and Delivery so we would want you to demonstrate leadership and assist with defining team goals and actively drive problem solving/ information processing and support the team in translating this information concisely.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Qualified in mechanical engineering and working towards a professional qualification, you will have a strong background in design working with standards and codes of practice, with experience of providing designs and specifications for commercial negotiations.
You will have excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people. You will be a forward thinking innovator, capable of anticipating challenges and responding to change in a rapidly evolving environment. You will be able to make educated judgments and decisions in the face of ambiguity, and have a good grasp of the bigger picture, seeking opportunities to contribute to the wider agenda.
