Within our Capital Design and Delivery department, we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Waste Treatment Design Team.
Do you have experience of optioneering, design, the production of engineering drawings, managing projects, finding and solving problems? We have a wide range of waste treatment work going on in our team (c£200m across 70 projects) and we are able to offer technical work, leadership exposure and commercial exposure which will build the skills you need to progress your career.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
In this role you’ll manage the individual projects to achieve a technical solution for Waste Treatment facilities for Severn Trent Water. During the early stages of a project you`ll undertake feasibility evaluation/assessment for projects; as the schemes progress you be creating and evaluating designs & specifications for tender through in-house design and through utilisation of consultant design teams. You will be responsible for generating the best overall solutions to the challenges of tomorrows environmental needs and consumer expectations.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
You`ll come equipped with your design experience and you`ll prepare conceptual designs to create innovative and efficient solutions. You`ll also need to engage with appropriate stakeholders to understand the root cause of the business problem so it`s very important for us you are confident to liaise with the stakeholders and build relationships and influence at mid and senior leadership levels. You’ll be degree qualified and showing your professional commitment as a member of one of the engineering Institutions or actively working towards incorporated or chartered status, a journey which we are keen to support you on.
Having water industry background would be great but not essential however experience in treatment processes with a mechanical background would be beneficial. You`ll also need to be confident to liaise with project stakeholders and be able to build relationships and influence at mid and senior leadership levels.
Of course, it’s important that we attract the right skill sets, and those with the right experience but we value character, positivity, and a caring attitude in equal weight.
