HFE Systems Engineer I
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Human Factors Engineering/Specialist in Global I&C Department. In this position, a Human Factors Specialist can expect to be responsible for the following:
• Be accountable to lead assigned human factors tasks for Westinghouse projects ensuring project quality, cost, and milestone objectives are met. Nuclear Industry
• Execute assigned tasks in accordance with Westinghouse quality procedures to ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Maintain nuclear safety and a safe working environment by following company and industry safety policies and procedures.
• Provide human factors consultation, as requested, for product development and application.
• Support licensing activities related to human factors to ensure Westinghouse and customer commitment to regulatory codes and directives.
• Maintain continuity among all stakeholders by supporting the integration of scope across product lines as necessary, communicating effectively.
• Develop plans for human factors analysis, test, and evaluation activities, establishing methodologies, work instructions and schedules to accomplish the scope of work.
• Support preparation of requests for quotation (RFQs) and project change offers including scope statements; specifications; cost estimates; plans; and schedules.
• Travel domestically and internationally to support activities at customer job sites as required.
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or other related discipline is required.
0-3 Years Experience
• Previous engineering experience involving products with a human-system interface is desired. Nuclear HFE experience great plus.
• Knowledge of projects involving operations at nuclear power plants or other heavy industries is desired.
• Strong Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated ability to lead the work of others.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills. Ability to present material in a professional manner to both Westinghouse management and customer representatives.
