About the Role
In this role, you will contribute to managing the company’s interface with investors and sell-side analysts to facilitate a full and fair market value for BHP's equity as well as delivering on our ESG engagement strategy. The position will play an important role in engaging with multiple stakeholders within the business and production of investor communications, ensuring the market has knowledge and understanding of the company’s strategy, operations, financial and ESG performance.
Your responsibilities:
- Support the development and execution of the IR and ESG strategy for engagement with investors and analysts on all matters BHP in the EMEA and Americas regions.
- Develop content and supporting materials for key IR and ESG releases and events including Results Announcements, Operational Reviews, market briefings and site visits, the ESG Roundtable, Annual Reporting suite, shareholder votes on AGM and ESG ratings agency assessments.
- Respond to investor, sell-side analyst and internal BHP queries, requests and correspondence in relation to investor relations and ESG matters and contribute to the identification of emerging investor and ESG issues.
- Monitor analyst reports to build understanding of market sentiment/focus areas, as well as monitoring and updating ESG ratings agencies’ and other data providers’ reports on BHP’s ESG performance.
- Support the management and analysis of company’s sell-side consensus using Visible Alpha platform, providing feedback on market earnings expectations around results.
- Participate in meetings and conferences with other IR team members with investors and analysts in the EMEA region.
- Reviews of peer reporting and analyst BHP financial models, providing feedback and recommendations.
- Horizon scanning and information sharing on key IR and ESG-related trends and issues as they emerge to identify investor issues for consideration by the broader IR group.
- Support Board Chair, Senior Independent Director and Executive Leadership Team members’ in external ESG engagement.
About You
- Desirable to have experience in an investor relations, ESG, sustainability or markets related role in a publicly listed company, consultancy or financial institution.
- Good understanding of financial statements and key metrics for financial markets.
- Experience with, or clear understanding of, ESG standards, sustainability trends and expectations for resources companies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and influence both internal stakeholders and external market participants such as analysts, ESG rating agencies and institutional investors.
- A track record of preparation of clear, concise written materials and presentations as well as effective communication on this content.
- Excellent organisational skills with an aptitude for managing multiple projects across time zones and meeting deadlines.
- Proactive, analytical and results driven demonstrating a high attention to detail.
- Strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Previous exposure to the resources, basic materials or manufacturing industry and some direct experience working in the fields of ESG or sustainability desirable
