Job Purpose and Impact
Transform how we manage Data globally at Cargill.
We are looking for a Snowflake Administrator who will take the lead in building the foundation for modern business applications in the company. In this role, you will apply your in depth knowledge of modern infrastructure and cloud software engineering practices to build, secure and maintain the core capabilities used by our data and application teams to drive business value. You will also coach and mentor junior engineers to deliver highly scalable and resilient systems using infrastructure as code across our data centers and cloud environments.

Key Accountabilities
Build the platforms, systems and infrastructure using in depth knowledge of software development and infrastructure as code practices.
Take the lead to design, develop, test, deploy, support and enhance the complex and varied automated infrastructure and platform components.
Take the lead to drive large efforts, stories and tasks to completion.
Participate in the engineering community to maintain and share relevant technical approaches and modern skills and present best code practices.
Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
Create guardrails to keep Snowflake costs in check.
Review Snowflake best practices and
considerations for managing load operations and performance to the user community.
Enable data governance in Snowflake, including row/column-level data security using secure views and dynamic data masking features.
Implement advanced techniques for Snowflake performance-tuning methodologies.
Design and develop secure access to objects in Snowflake with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
Recommend the Snowflake best practices for management, monitoring, and optimization.
Manage and allocate compute and storage resources.
Manage multiple accounts across the Organization.
Employ recovery methods and agile development with Time Travel & Cloning.
Use data replication for data sharing across accounts and for failover scenarios.
Share data securely both internally and externally our organization.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in IT or related field
Experience implementing Snowflake in large global organizations
Experience with Python
Familiarity and experience with Cloud Infrastructure (AWS or Azure)
Experience managing and allocating compute and storage resources
Experience managing multiple accounts across a large highly matrixed organization
Experience with recovery methods and agile development with time travel & cloning
Experience sharing data securely both internally and externally in an organization.
Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave
