A GC-MS/Perfume Analyst to support our fabulous Fine Fragrance and Fragrance Consumer Products Development team for the South Asia, Middle East, and Africa (SAMEA) region, based in our Dubai office - Your future position?
Our Perfume Analysis team provides critical analytical support for our Fine Fragrances and Fragrance Consumer Products Development team for - a) Product development and improvement, b) Troubleshooting Fragrance formulations, and c) Competitor analysis, to help Givaudan maintain a competitive edge and continue to develop winning, breath-taking, and high-quality Fragrances.
We are looking for a ‘GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry)/Perfume Analyst’ for the regional Fragrance Technology team. You will provide critical analytical support for our Fine Fragrance and Fragrance Consumer Products Development teams for key markets in South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa (SAMEA). You will also help to run the analytical laboratory and be responsible for GC-MS instrument maintenance, safety procedures, SOP’s, and supplies.
You will be based in our Dubai Media City office and report to the Fragrance & Beauty Regional Technology Head for the SAMEA region. The role offers excellent opportunities for both personal and professional development.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for -
• Interacting with requesters and management to define project priorities and analytical needs.
• Performing analysis of Perfume in-market products, including sample preparation, data treatment, and analytical schema transcription.
• Carrying out data treatment using software and specific analytical databases.
• Translating analyses into a schema for Perfumers.
• Assessing the consistency of results, writing reports, and sharing these with requesters.
• Utilising available IT applications and tools to manage requests and record results in databases.
• Performing preventive maintenance of chromatographic equipment to ensure the reliability of results.
• Interacting with the wider analytical network in Givaudan and the industry to stay up-to-date with standard protocols and industry best practices.
You?
Your professional profile includes:
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a relevant discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in Fragrance laboratory analysis using the GC-MS/FID techniques and expertise in using chemometric tools to interpret analytical results.
• Good knowledge and passion for the world of fragrances with competent olfactory ability.
• Knowledge of fragrance raw materials and the composition of essential oils is essential.
• Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English language.
• Knowledge of GLP (Good Laboratory Practices).
• A team player and comfortable with diversity.
