Our Fantastic Sheffield Team are recruiting for a Group Manager to join our Distribution Team.
The Group Manager is a key role within the e-commerce function, which leads onto business continuity.
Your role
You will set the standards for your distribution and operational areas. Reporting to the Distribution Manager, this role will be managing different departments, from picking, wrapping, packaging, and shipping. This role ultimately is to ensure we manage the process and adhere to our internal and external KPI’s.
Remodel distribution activities, towards world-class performance; make continuous improvement standard practice. Educate, develop and inspire team members towards betterment and achievement.

Hours will be on a shift rotation: 6am-2pm Monday to Thursday, 6am to 1pm on Friday and following week: 2pm-10pm Monday to Thursday – 1pm to 8pm on Friday.
What your impact will be
- Creating a culture of safety first ‘act first time every time’.
- Maintain the hourly boards and detail improvement areas, history of performance to target. Managing KPI’s.
- Maintain connection between hourly boards and the SQDCIP Gemba board. Ensure 3c actions are detailed, accurate and closed out, action all next steps first time every time.
- Lead and manage team member’s performance and contributions, including absenteeism and discipline.
- Deliver continuous improvement processes impacting quality and productivity.
- Educate, develop and inspire team members towards betterment and achievement
- Achieve volume ‘batch compliance’ resulting in exceptional OTIF performance.
- Be responsible for the product quality standards and the continuous improvement of these standards through system compliance and demonstrable 3c prioritisation and achievement.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience of leading a team, working within a disciplined and system-controlled environment
- Ability to champion the JELD-WEN Values
- A total ‘SAFETY FIRST’ mentality, understanding and culture
- Excellent people management skills and capabilities and experience of motivating and managing a team
- Organised and have a continuous improvement mindset
- Experience of working with a SQDCIP (or equivalent) production management system is desirable, however not essential
- Have good computer skills and experience of basic business software
