JOB NAME: JUNIOR DESIGNER, Grade 7

PROGRESSIVE ROLE/COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communicate with design team members and customers to efficiently perform all tasks
Develop good relationships with design team members and customers
Organize and plan tasks assigned to meet customer timing
Work from MUP's and Work Request details to complete designer tasks accurately
Solve problems with tools (hardware & software) in an efficient manner
Ability to follow tasks to completion with support as required
High level of attention to detail on design work
Passion for design, always thinking of ways to improve design skills and knowledge
Follow company health and safety guidelines

TECHNICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ability to create/modify basic level 2D/3D component designs (3rd angle projection views, dimensioning as per ANSI/ISO standard, fully constrain sketches)
Use Product Data Management system to manage Cad Data
Learn Design Department basic model/drawing standards
Learn Vitesco policies and procedures related to Design Department
Learn MCAD software through experience and training (ie. Catia, Creo and/or NX)
Ability to prepare and transfer data securely using MCAD & data transfer tools

QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful completion of a recognized three-year Diploma course in Mechanical Engineering Design/Technology with the following curriculum:

6 Mechanical Design Courses – molded part design, machined part design, stamped part design, design for manufacturing, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, head transfer, metallurgy, GD&T, Inspection methods
2 Mechanical Drafting Courses
4 MCAD Design Courses (Catia, Creo, NX), Automotive Part and assembly Design

Minimum of one year of recent experience using MCAD Catia, Creo and/or NX CAD systems
