Acting as a Technical Project Leader within the North American Thermal Management Actuators. The Technical Project Leader is responsible for technical functions of Thermal Management products.
Core Responsibilities:
Leads coordination of technical activities within a project and prioritizes work for the team.
Regularly assesses technical priorities as needed, communicate priorities within the technical team, communicates status to the Project Manager.
Works with all engineering disciplines within the project to meet project goals and timing.
Works with other disciplines (purchasing, manufacturing, quality) to meet project goals and timing.
Follows the product development processes (PDP).
Manages problems and issues as they arise within the project and reports status to Project Management.
Develops products that are optimized to balance performance and cost.
Additional Responsibilities:
Responsible for reviewing and ensuring the technical specifications define the performance, operation, and environmental requirements for products within the project.
Ensures the technical risk assessments (Design For Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design For Manufacturing) are completed, and applicable risks are added and managed on the project risk list.
Acts as the main technical interface internally and in front of the customer.
Supports the Segment and Business Development for quotations.
Manages the timing for test activities, verification and validation, and manages the planning for the test means and methodologies.
Job Requirements
Mandatory Qualifications:
Minimum of an Engineering degree (Bachelor’s).
5+ years of applicable automotive engineering experience.
Proven technical leadership skills.
Knowledge of automotive systems and architectures.
Software Tools: Excel, MS Office, CAD (Creo or Catia).
Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
Willingness to work on-site as required.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience facilitating technical meetings with suppliers and customers.
Good communication and technical presentation skills.
Team player, autonomous, shows initiative and creativity.
Can provide examples of practical application of Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) principals, Design of Experiments (DOE), Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) analysis and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
