Are you excited by the opportunity to develop you skills and work on a range of plant and machinery? Do you want to work for one of the UKs leading Port operators? We are seeking a Material Handling Operative to join our Peel Ports Logistics team and help keep the world moving!
As a Material Handling Operative, you will operate the company’s plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. You will clean company plant and equipment to include all wheeled assets and material handling equipment, ensuring that all checks, audits and other paperwork are completed accurately and on time. Inspecting company plant and equipment for damage, you will report any incidents, accidents, dangerous occurrences or damages to the Bulk Operations Supervisor without delay.
You proactively look for hazards, recording and actioning immediately and as safely as possible within SAP EHS. Working in a physically demanding environment, you will carry out miscellaneous operational duties where trained to do so.
You may already be in an operational role or keen to move to your first role at this level. You will ideally have previous experience working within an industrial, bulk handling environment, with the ability to operate Material Handler Cranes, Skid Steer, 3-7t FLTs and Payloaders.
You will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, along with the ability to multi-task and prioritise workload effectively and be adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to maintaining Health and Safety standards, as well as demonstrating compliance to safety policies and procedures is key. A full valid driving licence is essential for this role.
