The Associate and Director, Supply Chain is responsible to plan, coordinate, and organize systems, processes, and people that define a scalable distribution network for materials, services or logistics to support the entire regulated utility business objectives for Berkshire Hathaway Energy. The position will oversee the purchasing of materials or services, inventory management, warehousing, system data management, supply chain planning, transportation and related logistics to execute safe, efficient and cost effective storage and distribution of purchases depending on specialty (materials, services or planning and logistics).
Requirements of the Associate Director level includes:
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration, engineering or related field. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor’s degree)
• Five years of related experience, including three years supervisory/management or technical leadership experience.
• Three years of experience in warehousing, inventory, procurement, distribution environment or any combination within an MRP, DRP, WMS structure, covering multiple hub and spoke or centralized distribution centers.
• Extensive knowledge and experience implementing lean, best practices, and metrics in supply chain to maximize customer service, improve efficiency, reduce costs and eliminate stock outs. Background or certified in Six Sigma, and APICS certification preferred.
• Experience in negotiating and establishing supplier contracts that deliver maximum value at the lowest total cost.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and execute projects and tasks in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at the appropriate level of abstraction within organization.
• Self-starter with high energy level, able to work independently, understands high level objectives, and translates into action plan for assigned team.
• Proficiency with Business Analytics tools, ERP systems (Oracle, SAP or Peoplesoft) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Project management skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues and projects concurrently.
In addition, Requirements of the Director level position include:
• Eight years of related experience, including three years supervisory/management responsibilities.
• Five years of experience in warehousing, inventory, procurement, materials, distribution environment or any combination within an Oracle based MRP, DRP, WMS structure, covering multiple hub and spoke or centralized distribution centers.
• Background or certified in Six Sigma, and APICS certification preferred.
• Experience in negotiating and establishing logistics contracts with 3PLs and freight carriers that deliver maximum value at the lowest total cost.
• Project management skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues and projects concurrently.
• Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.
