We are looking for General Operator's to join our #WeAreMcCain family.
It’s the job of our ‘Gen Ops’ to provide day to day assistance and support to all routine and non-routine activities ensuring company standards are met at all times.
As a key member of the Manufacturing Team, you will work together with Shift Area Managers to also…
- Collect and dispose of all waste materials.
- Pack cartons of finished product into cases, according to product specifications. Inspect filled cartons for foreign bodies and raise any non-compliances immediately.
- Carries out carton check weighing according to company procedure, completing any relevant documentation where necessary • Operates carton erector, loading flat packed cartons onto the magazine feed, ensuring manual handling and health and safety practices are followed at all times • Within inspection, monitors finished product going to packing to remove and report and foreign bodies found.

Ensures that, where appropriate, all company documentation and procedures are followed and executed in the correct manner to company requirements

Reports all accidents, incidents, damage or near misses, whether caused, found or witnessed. Reports any faults or malfunctions to the area Senior Operative

Conducts appropriate daily and weekly cleaning is carried out and ensures that hygiene, Health and Safety and Food Safety standards are met

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR…
We're looking for someone with experience of working within food manufacturing in a similar role, and knowledge of the Health and Safety requirements within FMCG. You'll be a confident and assertive communicator at all levels, with excellent time management, prioritisation, and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task. It will also be desirable to have knowledge of...
• Basic food hygiene training • Manual Handling

WHERE YOU’LL WORK?
You’ll be based at our Grantham plant in Lincolnshire along with a team of approx. 110 other colleagues. You might not know, but here at McCain we also produce a range of fries called ‘Fries to Go’ – they’re made from mashed potato, are encased in their own special crisping compartment, and can be cooked in a microwave in just over 2 minutes – we are all about convenience at McCain!
