Job Summary:

Reporting to Director of Data and Analytics, the Microsoft Developer - Associate will play a key role in helping business uncovering insights that lead to better informed and successful decision-making. This individual will be responsible for development and support of key reporting requirements, using tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Data Factory, Docentric Forms, Powerapps and other Microsoft software. This is technical hands-on role that requires collaboration across various teams and works closely with both functional and technical teams to deliver reporting solutions. Activities include working with the business to understand requirements, interpret requirements, create data models, develop and test reports, and train users how to understand the data and run the reports.This position is a hybrid position, which requires to be in the office 3 days a week and travel to sites as required to work with business to understand their business reporting needs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. The key responsibilities are:

  1. Interpret Business Needs
    1. Collaborate with team members, vendors, management, and various stakeholders to document and understand data requirements and objectives.
    2. Create wireframes to demonstrate look and feel of solution and to drive clear requirements.
    3. Identify cross-system requirement dependencies and mitigate potential gap.
  2. Data Transformation / Data Insights and Reporting
    1. Determine best practice to pull and house data for reporting needs. Extensive mapping may be required. Standardize data from various sources if required.
    2. Develop and maintain key reporting solutions using Microsoft technologies, including Power BI, Microsoft Data Factory, Docentric Forms, and PowerApps
      1. Create logical and functional software code for reporting.
      2. Develop visual reports, dashboard and KPI scorecards.
      3. Develop and support Docentric Forms to work effectively with D365.
    3. Ensure proper documentation of test cases and test results. Perform functional and integration testing. Review and approve test cases.
    4. Collaborate with development team to ensure no gaps in product implementation.
  3. Actively Support Data Analytics and D365 Environment
    1. Transition Docentric Forms from vendor so forms can be internally supported. Understand D365 environment and how it works and can be supported using Docentric Forms.
    2. Be the first respondent to urgent support and enhancement requirements in Power Platform area.
    3. Maintain and Manage Service NOW tickets for Data Analytic incidents and requests. Follow-up with support team and requestors to maintain the worklog and timely close of tickets.
  1. Continuous Learning and Growth:
    1. Continue to expand knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack.
    2. Stay updated on emerging tools and best practices.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft platforms, including Windows, Azure, and Office 365.
  • Proficiency Power BI development and administration
  • Experience with other Power Platform tools
  • Experience with Docentric Forms
  • Excellent skills in Excel
  • Good knowledge of SQL

 

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 2 + years of SQL experience
  • 2+ years of Power BI experience
  • 1+ years of experience with Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Microsoft Certifications in Development a plus
  • Familiar with Docentric, a plus
  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle.
