In the next few years, Ampol will be evolving our energy offering to ensure we continue to meet the ongoing needs of our customers whilst best leveraging marketplace opportunities as they arise. We are investing in our infrastructure and people to ensure that we can continue to provide, safe, reliable, and competitive supply to our valued customers.

Our collaborative culture means effective decision making informed by diverse thinking, cross functional-working teams and access to experts across our business.
People are at the heart of our success, and we have a current opportunity for a SAP ERP Applications Manager to join our Corporate Systems team, to take technical ownership and manage the ongoing delivery of Ampol’s SAP ERP related applications.
Leading a team of internal and vendor resources, you will act as a business partner to Corporate stakeholders, ensuring ERP application services are operating effectively, and identifying opportunities for improvement across the Ampol Group.
This is a permanent position based in our Alexandria, Sydney HQ, with flexible, hybrid work options available.
Key duties:

- Collaborate with the IT Leadership to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support solutions to enable the achievement of current and future business strategies and objectives.
- Ensures all agreed requests for improvements to SAP ERP applications are managed and are scoped, prioritized and effectively implemented.
- Ensure development standards and guidelines are in place, including architecture standards, technology standards, security and coding guidelines.
- Financial management, control and stewardship of IT assets and resources used in the provision of SAP-related services.
- Monitor and manage SAP-related IT expenditure, ensuring all IT financial targets are met.
- Build an effective client service relationship between SAP IT and SAP Business user groups.
- Provide governance to applications development and support functions, by ensuring appropriate processes are in place, with accountabilities, roles and responsibilities defined.
About you:
- Proven experience in managing SAP application development, in particular experience in managing development in SAP ERP
- Sound experience within ITIL frameworks, ideally ITIL v3 certified, with a systemic knowledge of IT development, operational and change management processes and methodologies.
- Experience in management of third-party suppliers of application development and maintenance services in a complex outsourcing environment.
- Well-developed organisational skills and the capacity to be flexible in balancing priorities to meet/exceed customer needs.
- Excellent networking and relationship management skills
