Job Summary
Reporting to the Contracts Specialist, the R&O / Field Service Technician is primarily responsible for repairing and servicing DRS Pivotal Power products on site in the Bedford facility. This can include refurbishing units, diagnosing, and troubleshooting issues, implementing repairs, and completing final acceptance testing activities. Additional duties include providing routine technical maintenance, repairs, modification, equipment setup and testing in the field. This can either be on-board naval vessels, at support depots or customer locations.
As the Field Service Technician, your main responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
Responsible for providing routine technical maintenance, repairs, modification, equipment setup and testing
Support DRS equipment in operating environments at depots, training sites, and customer field operations with training, operation or repair. Some equipment is located in awkward, physically demanding locations
Provide remote assistance via phone/email
Assists with repairs and/or modifications using a variety of hand tools and test equipment
Assists in demonstrating setup and adjustment of equipment for potential users or operators
Ability to work variable shifts and up to 12 hour shifts to perform necessary testing
Punctuality and attendance are considered essential functions of this position. Employees must be able to maintain and adhere to the customer’s on-site scheduling requirements.

Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
May participate in preparation of less complex proposals

What you require to be successful in this role:
Possession of an Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma and/or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 2 to 5 years of related work experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
Ability to travel with minimal notice
Valid Passport
Ability to obtain corporate credit card
Good problem-solving skills are key to make independent studies, analyses, interpretations, and conclusions
Effective technical report writing skills to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret data for varied audiences
Highly effective customer service skills
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and meet work schedules
Ability to manage multiple technical assignments
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Proven team player in a multifunctional and changing technical environment
