Jr. Environmental Engineer - Dayton, NJ (South Brunswick, NJ)
It’s an exciting time to join IFF! We are looking for a Junior Environmental & Utilities Engineer to join our Operations team at our Dayton, NJ location. This role is critical to the daily operations of the Plant and is responsible for coordinating all Environmental and Utilities related functions for the site. The ideal candidate has experience in environmental compliance, waste management and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for all local and state recordkeeping requirements, including inspections and audits.
- Maintain facility regulatory compliance standards.
- Assist in capital and R&M projects and repairs.
- Work with Environmental Engineer to coordinate all internal and external environmental audits including DPCC, ISO14001, Right to Know Surveys, and Environmental reviews.
- Participate in IFF’s Sustainability Program (Green Team) for the South Brunswick Nourish site and plan site-wide environmental initiatives.
- Responsible for the coordination of hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal
- Manage the site wastewater pretreatment facility and manage the site potable water system.
- Responsible for communication with external service providers (contractors) including PSE&G.
Job Requirements
Experience and Skills:
- 1-3 years of experience working in environmental compliance role
- Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in STEM)
- Familiarity of Environmental audits
- Some working knowledge of NJDEP & USEPA requirements & regulations (DPCC, RCRA, Air, etc.)
- Ability to work in fast paced work environment.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing industry a plus.
- Ability to be forklift certified.
- Ability to wear a respirator and be a member of the spill team.
- Mechanically inclined
- OSHA 24hr HAZWOPER
Preferred Licenses:
- NJ Industrial Wastewater (N-Class) License
- NJ High Pressure Boiler Operator’s License
