JOB PURPOSE
Burberry is offering an opportunity for a Trainee Fabric Inspector to join our Internal Manufacturing Team at Burberry Mill. As our Trainee, you will learn the intricacies of fabric inspection supported by a team of experienced professionals. You will assist in inspecting Burberry's iconic fabrics to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Following a successful probationary period, your position and remuneration will be reviewed and progressed accordingly.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in creating a safe working environment by adhering to manual handling courses and safety protocols in textile production.
Assist in inspecting off-loom and finished fabrics, conducting quality and shade checks.
Learn to utilise the loom inspection system for patrolling, mending, and identifying faults accurately.
Assist in entering stock information into the Camtex system and allocate fabric to stillages.
Support the loading of 'A' frames upon receiving fabric from the finisher.
Learn to identify fabric faults with precision, following standard specifications.
Assist in transferring pieces in the system and maintaining accurate details.
Support in preparing fabric for delivery to vendors, under supervision.
Strive to uphold high standards of excellence and promote effective communication within the team.
PERSONAL PROFILE
Understanding of woven fabric construction is desirable either through education or experience.
Interest in Textile Studies and a willingness to learn.
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions with precision and attention to detail.
Good colour perception skills are necessary.
Minimum GSCE Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English.
