JOB PURPOSE 

Burberry requires a highly experienced, skilled and enthusiastic Graphic Designer with a keen interest in the field of print, packaging, and digital media. This person will work across a broad and varied remit including event and experience collateral, packaging, architectural graphics and illustration, internal documents and templates, as well as creating technical artworks and guidelines where creativity, consistency and quality are key. The designer will work from researching concepts through to design and technical detailing for internal review, as well as handling quality control of external production.

 

Reporting into the Senior Graphic Designer, this role will require a close working relationship with the wider Burberry teams to interpret and implement the Burberry design vision. The success of this role will be driven by their ability to collaborate and clearly communicate, manage multiple projects at any one time, have an good understanding of printing and product development processes, as well as the ability to work autonomously in a pressurised and fast-paced environment.    

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Researching, designing and developing concepts across multiple projects
  • Development of packaging and print collateral (from concept through to technical artwork)
  • Create guideline documents
  • Present work for internal and external approvals and creative discussion 
  • Partner with parallel teams in-house for project input from graphics, art direction and architecture to ensure understanding and alignment of the Burberry brand 
  • Communicate technical specification documents to third party agencies
  • Supply creative and technical feedback on samples, prototypes and final production of collaterals
  • Make informed technical recommendations to designers
  • Passing print and / or product off-site   

 

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES/MEASURE OF SUCCESS

  • Consistently produce a high level of creative in line with the Burberry brand
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with creatives and internal/external stakeholders, maintaining consistently high standards
  • The ability to work on multiple briefs, at pace, in a pressurised environment
  • Timely delivery of creative, that meets the agreed brief      

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Will have 3+ years’ experience in similar or relevant roles
  • Ideally have experience within the luxury and/or fashion sector
  • Organised with a focus on timely delivery and excellent communication skills
  • Good understanding and experience of processes, from design and prototyping to industrial production
  • Good understanding of relevant materials and finishes
  • Proactive in identifying issues, exploring and proposing innovative solutions
  • A problem-solving mentality, always looking to improve processes and standards
  • A strong cultural understanding of the design landscape with respect to current creative and marketing trends
  • Be self-motivated and organised to deliver consistently against agreed deadlines
  • Will have the ability to prioritise and multi-task in a pressurised and fast paced environment, with strong attention to detail and perfectionist attitude
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite software, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
  • Confident in Keynote 
  • Understanding of Figma is beneficial
