JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Brakes Repair Technician I assists in the repair or overhaul of pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.  

 

Essential Functions

  • Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment and ensure the compliance with company's rules and policies.
  • Must be able to comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules, guidelines and regulations. Be energy conscious, if applicable.
  • Must understand and comply with applicable standards. ( i.e.: ISO 9001, ISO/TS 22163, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and CMMI).
  • Maintain and safeguard business records
  • Disassemble equipment and clean as needed.
  • Perform basic initial evaluation and inspection of equipment as assigned. 
  • Document evaluation finding and generate a Technician Evaluation Report. 
  • Routing of wires and installing crimp terminations and/or connectors as instructed by Sr. Personnel.
  • Assist in testing equipment and recording test results. 
  • Perform component level testing as required. 
  • Interpret readings on gages, indicators, and dials. 
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and calibration on equipment as instructed. 
  • Provide support and assistance to other technicians and team members, as directed, and any other duties as assigned by the Cell Leader or Sr. Personnel.

 

Technical Competencies

  • Technical Capacity: controls and instrumentation 
  • Mechanical Aptitude: equipment maintenance, mechanical inspection tools and tooling 
  • Time Management to ensure equipment is ready for scheduled repair or overhaul
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making (in making job decisions, the incumbent is guided by policy, routine and procedures)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word (data entry and report writing)

Required Education

High School Diploma or GED

Work Environment

Sitting, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, etc.
