Henderson Food Service is the leading supplier to the food service industry in Ireland. We source and supply a range of thousands of products to customers including hotels, restaurants, and public sector organisations such as hospitals and offices.

Working as Supervisor you will:

•    Ensure that adequate resourcing is in place, undertaking a variety of people management tasks including allocating work load, organisation of rotas and holidays. 
•    Ensure employee compliance with defined procedures and that all required tasks are carried out in relevant timescale.
•    Carry out any necessary Recruitment, Training & Development of the team.
•    Use of Microsoft Office applications to create, collate and analyse financial and operational reports for senior management. 
•    Deal with complex queries and use initiative and intuition to make the right decision and deal with them in the right way
•    Ensure processes are operating appropriately and escalate any issues immediately to prevent damage/risk occurring to the operation. 
•    Facilitate with the resolution of any health and safety requirements identified through risk assessments or other observations in the Departments.
•    Record, investigate and report accidents, incidents and near misses, as well as implementing any required changes.

 

Skills for Success
 
Joining us as Supervisor the minimum criteria you’ll need is:
•    A minimum of 1 years’ experience managing in a warehouse environment. 
•    Intermediate level knowledge Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. 
•    Full and clean driving license           
 
The Attributes you’ll need include:

•     Excellent communication, both downwards and upwards, when operating with various teams and departments.        
•    An ability to quickly establish close relationships with our customers, internal colleagues, and on-site contractors/clients        
 
It is desirable if you have:
•    3rd level degree or equivalent
•    Contract Management Experience with 3PL 
•    Commercial awareness and proven track record of cost/service management. 
•    Experience in a Food warehouse

This is a full-time position working 38 hours per week. Working hours will be 9am-5pm Tuesday to Saturday. As the warehouse is a 24-hour operation,  a degree of flexibility with regard to working hours may be required.
