Payment Posting Representative at Ottobock

Job Descrption

Position Summary: 

 

This position is responsible for the review and timely application of posting transactions from payors and patients. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Create daily deposit batches for payment, adjustment, and balance transfer transactions  
  • Review and post all Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) transactions from insurance payors  
  • Review and post all Explanation of Benefits (EOB) transactions from insurance payors  
  • Uploads daily remittance from payor websites, as needed  
  • Post and review branch deposits  
  • Post denials, adjustments, write-offs, and refunds transactions  
  • Process and post credit card payments from patients and insurance payors  
  • All posting transactions must be completed by month-end deadlines 
  • Performs other duties special projects as assigned  

  

Supervisory and/or Leadership Responsibilities:   

 

  • None 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of billing, insurance payor, and medical billing processes. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting company deadlines. 
  • Experience in interpreting EOBs. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Software-Excel, Word, Email.  
  • Effective oral and written communication skills for accurate, concise, and organized communication.   
  • Extremely detail-oriented and ability to work independently.  
  • ​Effective organizational, time management and planning skills.   
  • Dependable in attendance expectations.   

 

 Minimum Qualifications – (Education, Experience, Certification, & Licensure): 

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.  
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in medical billing. 
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in accounts receivable, claims, and insurance payor requirements.

  • This position may be required to work more than 40 hours per week 
  • This role may be on-site.  Physical location/region will be included in the offer letter.     
  • This position may require employee to attend mandatory on-site meeting during the year.
