Provide leadership and technical environmental safety and health support to the Fairmount, GA site, including both the Technical Center and the Kennesaw plant. Assist with development & coordination of site environmental health and safety programs and objectives. Coordinate EHS training programs at the site. Monitor EH&S regulations and provide technical support to personnel to ensure compliance with Federal, State, local and internal environmental, health and safety. Support and maintain the Huber Sustainability Management System.
This position will require some travel to Kennesaw as well.
1. Assist with compliance activities pertaining to Federal, State, local and internal EHS – environmental, health and safety regulations, programs and guidelines by supporting the maintenance and monitoring the compliance assurance system including permit status and requirements, methods, compliance calendar, and audits. Provides technical safety and health support and information to site personnel. Prepares and implements written safety and health programs and policies. Identifies safety and health training needs and develops and delivers relevant onboarding and continued training programs. Participates in risk assessments, job safety analysis and safe work permits.
2. Provides site-wide service to assist with implementation of controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards. Verifies practices and processes to ensure control measures are adequate. Supports the maintenance of EHS relevant documents. Promotes EHS environmental safety and health awareness and engages employees to participate directly in EHS processes. Reviews process information, procedures and practices for inputs in environmental, health and safety.
3. Coordinates and support activities in the EHS areas in relation to contractors’ training and qualification. Acts as emergency responder, incident investigator and prepares reports, shares experience and learnings with other Huber sites. Participates and leads Site Safety Committee activities as needed, maintains safety processes and promotes employee participation in EHS projects and activities. Perform safety inspections, documents actions and tracks results. Assess trends and identify improvement opportunities collaborating with employees. Participates in Continuous Improvement projects.
4. Performs and/or coordinates industrial hygiene and environmental sampling and monitoring to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and best practices for both safety and environmental regulations.
5. Assists with implementation of Corporate EHS policies, procedures, and programs such as the Huber Sustainability Management System and SBU Requirements. Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the area of expertise. Trains and develops other site SMEs by supporting self-assessments, reviews and practices.
6. Assists with the completion of all daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports required by local, state and federal regulations and internal company reporting.
7. May perform other duties as assigned.
