£19,943 to £26,367 per annum (dependent upon experience)
Here at Serco, we’re looking for a Building Maintenance Assistant to join us at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital, offering a unique opportunity to work in a diverse environment providing a wide scope for development of skills and knowledge as well as making a positive difference in supporting the NHS and community we support.
Reporting to the Building Supervisor you will be part of the building maintenance team responsible for providing the building maintenance across the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital site as part of Serco’s Hard FM estates service to the NHS. A role that offers the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills across the wide range of services we provide.
The post holder will ensure that the hospitals’ building and fabric services and equipment are maintained to a high standard and ensure their continued quality, safety and reliability.
You will undertake building and fabric planned preventative maintenance as well as first response to carry out repairs as requested by the client and be supported with any associated training requirements i.e. steps & ladder, health and safety, working at heights etc. This work is managed through via an electronic handheld device and task management system and will typically include:
What you’ll need to do the role
To be considered for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar maintenance role and working within a large complex service organisation. It is preferable that you have knowledge of building trades as this will be an advantage. You will need demonstrate a professional approach, strong awareness to health and safety, good communication and customer service skills and be able to work well in high pressure situations.
