ServiceNow Lead Developer
Hybrid – Attached to the Solihull Office
Full Time, Permanent
£70,000 - £80,000 (dependent on experience)
Here at Serco, we are seeking an ambitious ServiceNow Lead Developer to take on a leadership role in the design, development, configuration, and customisation of the ServiceNow Platform within an agile development environment. You will lead teams of ServiceNow Developers, including third-party and client resources, ensuring timely delivery of services while maintaining high standards of quality. Additionally, you will provide guidance and direction to developers on best practices for product changes.
As part of this you’ll:
Participate actively in team meetings, Agile ceremonies, project meetings, customer sessions, and corporate meetings
Collaborate with the ServiceNow Product Owner to identify project processes for change delivery, such as agile or waterfall
Design and implement ServiceNow change initiatives from initiation to completion, tailored to customer requirements
Set clear development standards for the ServiceNow Development Team and ensure alignment and delivery against these standards
Conduct technical assessments and detailed design reviews, validating that designs adhere to approved architecture and meet quality standards
Implement quality measurements related to ServiceNow change to identify continuous improvement opportunities and recognize team achievements
Drive ServiceNow adoption within Serco, advocating for solutions that drive significant improvements for our customers
Identify, mitigate, and resolve project issues and risks in collaboration with team members
Supervise, mentor, and develop the ServiceNow Development Team on application and implementation methodology
What you’ll need to do the role:
Experience: Excellent capability in IT Service Management within an ITIL or SIAM framework. Experience in Application Services is essential
Service Management Processes: Detailed experience working within ITIL v3/v4 and SIAM processes. Detailed understanding of Service Management standards (e.g., ISO20000, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 27001)
Technical Knowledge: Strong experience in designing and implementing solutions using ServiceNow software. Demonstrated knowledge of architectural principles and enterprise technology solutions. ServiceNow Technical Designer Credential preferred
People Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate positive interactions in a matrix environment and establish long-lasting relationships with stakeholders
Management Skills: Experience managing teams, preferably in Service Management, Technical Design, or operational teams. Ensure Serco processes and policies are applied and adhered to in a timely manner
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to interact effectively with consumers, IT Directors, operational teams, and cross-functional personnel
