We are therefore seeking a Group Head of ESG which will be a pivotal position in steering Serco towards achieving its ESG objectives and enhancing our societal impact.
Your responsibilities:
• Strategic Leadership: Lead the charge in defining and executing Serco’s ESG strategy (with a key focus on the social component), ensuring it is integrated across all levels of our operations and aligns with our core values and business objectives.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Forge robust relationships across Serco and with key external stakeholders to advance our ESG commitments. Your ability to connect and communicate will be crucial in embedding our ESG ethos.
• Framework Development and Management: Refine and enhance our ESG framework, setting clear, actionable objectives and monitoring our progress against them. Your work will include the proactive identification of ESG-related risks and opportunities, ensuring Serco remains ahead of the curve.
• Performance and Reporting: Oversee the development and management of ESG KPIs and ensure accurate, transparent reporting both internally and externally. You will ensure that our achievements and challenges in ESG are communicated clearly, contributing to Serco's reputation for sustainability and responsibility.
• Expertise and Advice: Provide authoritative advice on ESG matters, keeping the organization informed of emerging trends, regulations, and best practices. Your insight will guide Serco’s strategy and operational practices.
What you need to do the job
• Deep understanding and experience within the ESG landscape, particularly with a focus on the social aspect
• Proven ability to lead and inspire, driving ESG initiatives that align with corporate strategy and stakeholder expectations.
• Demonstrable experience of ESG reporting and ratings frameworks, models and KPIs
• Strong and relevant experience developing and implementing ESG strategy and programmes and reporting.
• Track record of establishing strategic relationships across a global organisation and influencing senior and executive leaders on the ESG agenda
• Experience in leading transformational change on ESG matters particularly regarding a company’s social agenda
