We are currently looking for a People Partner for Risk and Compliance to ensure our working standards are followed and adhere to employment law and Serco’s policies and operating practices.
As our People Partner, you will act as a source of expert advice and guidance in relation to governance and compliance across all people related activities. You will maintain up to date knowledge of relevant governance, legislation and best practice and complete horizon scanning for potential changes to the law, including relevant case law, and ensuring plans are in place to review impact and update standard operating procedures and controls.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
Capture and consolidate all our people regulatory and legal obligations and frameworks.
Implement strategic programmes of actions to ensure we are operating legally and ethically across all people related activities.
Develop and oversee controls that ensure compliance with relevant laws, policies, and regulations.
Carries out quality assurance checks on the controls in place with the people and culture team ensuring that there is a clear segregation to satisfy internal/external audit requirements.
Identify and organise training to the People team in relation to governance, compliance, and policies.
Support cross functional working groups to highlight awareness of any potential compliance issues.
Ensures consistent use of protocols relating to data collection and processing.
Actively participates in regular reviews of the Risk Register in relation to People compliance matters.
What you’ll need to do the role:
Passionate about doing the right thing and have a keen interest in process and controls.
Strong understanding and evidence of employment law.
Sound understanding of GDPR and data protection.
Ability to build strong professional relationships and collaborate across different levels internally and externally.
Proven experience of developing and implementing HR policies, operating procedures, and governance frameworks.
Able to work independently to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Good understanding of HR processes and operations, including lifecycle management.
Strong analytical skills, adept at working with complex data sets and able to extract and simplify relevant information.
Knowledge of European labour laws would be an advantage.
Highly organised, able to work to deadlines and be able to be professionally agile.
