As part of the Government’s investment in creating thousands of modern and innovative prison places with a view to truly rehabilitating prisoners, our Justice & Immigration business was chosen to be the first operator of HMP and YOI Fosse Way, a brand-new resettlement prison in Leicester that opened in mid 2023. As with all our custodial estate, Serco provides a secure, safe, and decent environment aimed at reducing re-offending, and at HMP Fosse Way, we will be caring for and working with around 1,700 prisoners.
At Fosse Way, we prioritise professionalism, security, and excellence in service. As a vital part of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the entrance lobby of Fosse Way, ensuring all visitors are appropriately booked in and inquiries are handled promptly.
Provide a professional front of house service, adhering to security protocols and treating all visitors with respect.
Act as the primary point of contact for all incoming visitors, addressing their needs efficiently and professionally.
Verify the identification of all visitors before granting access, ensuring compliance with security procedures.
Maintain a presentable reception area at all times, upholding our standards of professionalism.
Secure all items in the reception area and handle prisoner property according to established protocols.
Handle telephone inquiries in a timely and courteous manner, demonstrating strong communication skills.
Be approachable and capable of assuming responsibility, maintaining a positive and proactive attitude.
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations in handling visitor information.
What you will need to do the role
You will need previous experience working as a receptionist or a similar face to face role. You must have strong people skills and excellent IT capabilities.
You may also need to be available outside of normal office hours.
