Course Administration Specialist Co-ordinator
UK Defence Academy, Swindon, SN6 8LA
Full time, Permanent (37 hours a week)
Salary of £25,857 plus benefits
Serco is contracted to provide Total Facilities Management to the Defence Academy of the UK (DA). This prestigious establishment is responsible for post-graduate education and most of the command, staff, leadership, Defence management, acquisition, and technology training for members of the UK Armed Forces and MOD Civil Servants. Serco supports the DA as the MOD's primary link with UK universities and international military educational institutions.
Serco have an exciting new role as a Course Administration Specialist Coordinator. You will oversee all administration of the department and will be responsible for the mentoring, training, and development of departmental staff members.
Key Accountabilities:
Actively engage with induction processes to ensure the successful completion of own and colleague’s probationary periods if in a team.
Assist Team Leader or other departmental staff to undertake all required admin tasks, focussing on delivering service excellence and delivering against team objectives.
Take a pro-active role within the department to liaise with colleagues and customers and be fully conversant with workloads including effective communication with the Serco/Military/Civilian colleagues.
Provide background statistical information and detailed reports for the customer or Serco as directed.
Coordinate, produce and distribute communications as directed.
Close liaison with the other departments/external agencies on site and off site as required.
Make sensible decisions and take action based on best available information in the absence of customer/Team Leader.
What you’ll need to do the role:
Good level of general education, with proven business writing skills (essential) and Maths
Professional and engaging communication, at all levels, using a variety of communication methods both spoken and written
Ability to work unsupervised and to cope under pressure, with conflicting demands of customer and colleagues, always maintain composure
Ability to work in a team environment or individually
Proven organisational skills, ability to proactively manage departmental workload, delegating responsibility where necessary
Ability to assume responsibility and ability to lead meetings
Flexibility and adaptable to change
The Defence Academy sits within a beautiful and secure site which hosts 2 lakes and is surrounded by acres of scenic woodland.
