Location: DSTL Porton Down, Salisbury, Wiltshire
Working Hours: 37.5 hours a week, 8am to 4:30pm
Could you be our next Mechanical Fitter working across DSTL Porton Down?
You will be responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance works to support statutory compliance and client requirements under our facilities management contract.
Working alongside the Technical Services Department you will ensure all works meet MOD SFG20 and JSP375 requirements, liaising with the Helpdesk to ensure urgent maintenance tasks are responded to within appropriate timescales.
This role will see you support and work collaboratively with other trades within the maintenance team and supervising specialist contractors to ensure all certifications/documentation is completed in accordance with the client and VIVO’s requirements.
Within this role you will perform rectification of defects, ensuring all safety and performance standards are met in accordance with the contract protocols, maintaining accurate records withing the CAFM system.
What you’ll need to do this role
- This position requires NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in the relevant job specific discipline
- C&G Level 3 in Plumbing
- Accredited First Aid Qualification
- Knowledge and experience of various built estate mechanical systems e.g. commercial heating systems, chilled water systems, pressurised water systems, compressed air, mechanical air handling, local Exhaust Ventilation, Steam installations, Pressure systems complying to PSSR 2000, Confined Space, Legionella (L8) and working with “safe systems of work”.
- Articulate, numerate and IT literate.
- Be resilient under pressure and be able to converse confidently with staff, suppliers, and customers at all levels.
This role will require you to drive a company van therefore it is essential that you hold a clean and valid UK driving licence.
It is desirable that you have experience of operating within an MOD environment and have familiarity with geography and establishments within area of responsibility
To be considered for this position, you must be must British National and able to obtain a SC security clearance.
