In alignment with Serco’s commitment to impacting a better future, the Strategy Director will be a beacon of innovation and leadership within the Group and the broader international business landscape. Reporting directly to the Group Chief Strategy & Growth Officer, you will be instrumental in propelling our strategic efforts forward, with the primary function being to lead the development of Serco’s corporate strategy, providing valuable council to the ExCom, Divisional ELTs and external stakeholders as well as guidance on the approach to M&A and partnerships required to ensure the strategy is delivered. You will lead by example, fostering growth, and championing strategies that not only drive Serco’s success but also enhance our positive impact on the global community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the development and execution of Serco’s corporate strategy, aligning it with our purpose to impact a better future by shaping global Divisional and Business Unit strategies.
• Serve as the organisation's top strategist, offering expert analysis and recommendations on strategic planning, business development, competitive dynamics, and market opportunities.
• Champion the annual Global Strategy/Planning Process, producing compelling research and analysis to inform and support decision-making at the highest levels including ExCom.
• Coordinate and spearhead key strategic initiatives, cultivating robust relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to bolster Serco’s strategic position and contribution to a better future.
• Line manage a small team to who will support you in delivering your objectives and be responsible for their development and providing them with opportunities.
What You'll Need to Do the Job
• Demonstrated leadership experience with diverse and international teams, showcasing a successful track record in strategic development aligned with impactful outcomes.
• Advanced skills in market research, data analysis, and financial reporting, with the acumen to translate insights into strategic actions that drive forward progress and contribute to a better future.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with the confidence and capability to establish credibility and foster relationships with senior management and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in delivering high-stakes presentations to Executive and Board levels, equipped with outstanding report writing, presentation skills, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong experience in a top-tier strategy consultancy, bolstered by an exceptional academic background.
