At RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997. Serco proudly support the RAF and MoD, supplying around 20 different services onsite, from aircraft maintenance, to fuelling and ground control services. RAF Brize Norton is the largest operating base within the Royal Air Force, providing air transport and air-to-air refuelling to the RAF fleet.
You will play a vital role in the Logistical support of the Royal Air Force, helping to fulfil its operational and peacetime obligations. You will be responsible for the distribution, handling, and stock control of a diverse range of commodities such as aircraft parts, fuels, explosives and ammunition and other materials required to support the most technologically advanced aircraft, helping to sustain a modern Whole Force team. You will work alongside Serco and RAF colleagues to achieve the daily operational output within the storage and warehouse areas as well as within an office environment, potentially managing classified RAF assets. We currently have positions available in the Ground Fuels Department and the Demand Progression Department too.
Main accountabilities:
- Delivery of excellent customer service
- Frequent use of IT systems to manage emails and stock control
- Storekeeping and day to day management of stock
- Issuing & receipt of goods
- Ensure the section is correctly resourced, this includes managing holiday requests.
- First line management responsibility of Clothing Stores personnel in line with the Serco values and behaviours.
- Act as the immediate escalation focal point for any customer or team concerns, dealing with these concerns in a swift and professional manner, engaging with the Logistics & Supply Manager as appropriate.
What you'll need to do the role:
- Full UK driving licence
- Must be able to achieve SC Vetting status
- Experience in a Supply Chain or Logistics environment would be an advantage however, training can be provided for the right candidate.
- Must be a team player with a focus on delivering excellent customer service
- Be computer proficient and able to use the inhouse IT systems.
