Serco is contracted to provide Total Facilities Management to the Defence Academy of the UK (DA). This prestigious establishment is responsible for post-graduate education and most of the command, staff, leadership, Defence management, acquisition, and technology training for members of the UK Armed Forces and MOD Civil Servants.
Serco have an exciting new role as an Mechanical Work Controller at the Defence Academy. You will be responsible for managing sub-contractor activities, PPM, reactive and minor new work around the site.
Main Accountabilities:
Identify and measure performance output criteria for all relevant aspects of service delivery involving the control of contractors to develop and implement meaningful KPIs
Job planning to ensure maximum efficiency
Effectively oversee the coordination and programming of planned and reactive maintenance including but not limited to; domestic and commercial gas, pressure systems, legionella, statutory inspections, passenger and goods lifts, industrial doors, refrigeration systems, ventilation, BMS, fume cupboards, ductwork cleaning, BMS , fire dampers and fuel points
Raising POs on SAP for supply chain partners
Provide detailed reports periodically to summarise key progress and activity to Serco and its customers
What you’ll need to do the role:
Significant demonstrable experience in a similar role
A relevant formal qualification in a mechanical discipline
CDM experience
IOSH Managing Safely preferable
Line management experience with a high level of motivation, energy, drive and enthusiasm
Membership of relevant professional institution (e.g. CIBSE, IET) preferred
Excellent knowledge and application of H&S and Environmental matters, with particular relevance to those impacting the construction industry essential
Detailed understanding of relevant regulations, legislation and standards
Excellent planning and organisational ability with an analytical, financial and numerate approach to problems

The Defence Academy sits within a beautiful and secure site which hosts 2 lakes and is surrounded by acres of scenic woodland.
