HMP Dovegate is a category B male establishment prison based on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border near Uttoxeter. The operational capacity for the prison is 1100 prisoners who are serving a range of sentences including; trial, remand, those awaiting sentence and convicted men serving up to life in prison. Joining our onsite team at this category B prison, you’ll play a key role in delivering Psychological Services to residents. Here at Serco we have a vacancy for a Forensic Psychologist in Training to join our busy Psychological Services.
Your primary job purpose is to be part of a team delivering Psychological Services, however the role may also involve travel to other Serco-run sites.
Specific duties will vary and relate to functions across a number of different areas, including:
You may also be involved in the delivery of Offending Behaviour Programmes. You will be supported - and expected to progress - through the qualification that facilitates Registration as a Forensic Psychologist Practitioner with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
What you’ll need to do the role
First and foremost, you will have completed MSc in Forensic Psychology enabling registration on a qualification route to becoming a Registered Forensic Psychologist.
You must be able to reflect on your personal performance, seek and receive feedback and to strive towards continuous improvement.
