Pricing & Modelling Manager

£60,000 - £70,000 (dependent on experience)
Here at Serco, we are seeking an experienced Financial Modelling Manager to provide commercial and financial guidance to Serco’s UK & Europe Division in its pursuit of new business opportunities.
In this key role you will provide high quality financial modelling to bids, including collation and challenge of technical and cost inputs, analysis of financial information to help guide bid and pricing strategy and provision of accurate management information and insight to Serco UK & Europe Division governance forums.
The role may be deployed across facilities management (‘FM’) bids and hence will model both hard and soft FM solutions to generate a robust price modelling, inclusive of use of internal and external benchmark data, bottom-up pricing including asset loading for hard FM services and detailed FTE profiling. As a result, FM experience is essential for success.
As part of this you’ll:
- Analyse customer requirements (draft contracts, specifications), proposing clarification questions where necessary, and identify any possible gaps or misalignments within the costed solution as captured by the financial model
- Accurately complete (and reconcile to Serco’s internal financial model) customer financial returns, assisting and responding as required to customer clarification questions with regard the same
- Lead the financial modelling for assigned bids, maintaining expertise in financial reporting requirements, relevant legislation, and public procurement policy
- Liaise with broader SMEs and functions across Serco to ensure accuracy and correct treatment of bid inputs
- Assist in the development and implementation of commercial policy, processes and systems as required
What you’ll need to do the role:
- You will need to be a Qualified Accountant
- Working knowledge of financial reporting
- Expert financial modelling and Microsoft Excel capabilities
- Demonstrable track record of successful involvement in bidding and winning, in competitive environments, profitable and sustainable business. Specific public sector and/or outsourcing experience desirable
- Significant experience of price modelling in a facilities management (‘FM’) environment
- Knowledge/understanding of TUPE and people related cost modelling (salaries, leave, pension, indexation and social security)
- A track record of successfully operating company governance processes applied to complex sales opportunities
- Flexibility to travel
- Security Clearance may be required at BPSS/SC level
